ASTM A105 is the global benchmark for forged carbon steel piping components. It is designed specifically for ambient and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. It possesses excellent mechanical properties, with a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa, making it the default choice for high-pressure ASME B16.5 Class 150 to Class 2500 flanges.

2. P250GH / C22.8 (European Standard - EN/DIN)

In the European market, P250GH (under EN 10222-2) is the primary equivalent to ASTM A105. It is a weldable carbon steel grade specifically certified for elevated temperature and pressure vessels. C22.8 (under the older DIN 17243 standard) is its direct predecessor and is still widely searched by traditional engineers. Both materials match A105 closely in chemical composition and strength, making them fully compatible for European-spec projects.

3. Q235B (Chinese National Standard - GB)

Q235B is a highly common Chinese carbon structural steel. While it has a similar yield strength (235 MPa), it is fundamentally a rolled or plate steel, not a forging-grade steel.
